Teacher for our French section at the European School Copenhagen (leave cover)

Then come join our team at the European School Copenhagen (ESCPH)! We are hiring a full time leave cover for our French section to be the class teacher of our primary 4 (ages 9-10). The position will start on December 1st and run for approx. a year.

    We are looking for a teacher who

• has teaching qualification
• is fluent French speaker or have mother tongue proficiency
• can speak English at a professional level as this is our common collaboration language
• has experience in teaching in relevant subjects on the year level and the ability to differentiate, supporting each child to fulfil their potential
• will show outstanding commitment and ability to engage students and assist in developing their social, creative and personal skills 
• has strong classroom management.  

The ideal candidates will have

• experience in supporting student wellbeing and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where all children feel safe, valued and able to succeed
• proven experience in managing more challenging classroom dynamics and supporting students with a range of behavioural needs, using consistent, positive and effective behaviour-management strategies
• experience in intercultural education and skills to assist pupils in navigating an international, culturally diverse environment 
• strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively across disciplines, including with pedagogical experts and municipal support functions
• a passion for strengthening the French community in collaboration with the section and the French community in Copenhagen.

About the school
European School Copenhagen (ESCPH) is a public, international school under the Municipality of Copenhagen and the only of its kind in Denmark. The school has three language sections: English, French, and Danish, spanning from Nursery, Primary 1-5 and Secondary 1-7 with a total of around 1000 students.

ESCPH is an accredited school within the established European School system and as such offers a European education combining the rigorous educational requirements for European Schools with Danish school culture and working guidelines.
